Going over the festive calendar, first of all we find the main fiestas in honour of the Cristo de la Salut (from 20th January to 5th February), in Altea la Vella.
These are followed, at the end of February, by the prestigious Carnival festivities, which have become famous throughout the region, and Easter Week, one of the most deeply-rooted cultural and religious expressions.
The fishermans fiesta in honour of Sant Pere and the Verge del Carme (16th June).
During the fiestas of Sant Llorens (12th to 14th August), the Castell de la Olla takes place, an internationally renowned firework display with music, both on land and in the sea.
During the last week of September, the main fiestas in honour of the Santa Assim Crist del Sagrari and Sant Blai (patron saint of the town), with the traditional Moors and Christians celebration (21st to 24th September), take place.
